Mathias “Matt” Jellick, age 81, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born May 18, 1926, in Miller’s Farms, Pa., the son of the late Mathias Jellick and Mary Sefko Jellick.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Helen Jellick and brother Joseph Jellick.
Matt was a veteran of the United States Army. He served his country with honor during World War II as part of the United States Army’s 2nd Infantry Regiment, 5th Division. He was stationed in Central Europe. He fought in numerous battled, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 and the AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood. He loved boating, fishing and loved to travel. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa. Matt also worked for United States Steel for 43 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy Pollock Jellick; his loving children, Matt Richard Jellick and wife Debbie of Masontown, Pa. and Ronald Alan Jellick and wife Lisa of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his grandchildren whom he adored, Casandra Gulino, Rosemary Jellick and Alicia Jellick. Matt is also survived by brothers and sisters, Michael Jellick and wife Dorothy of Ohio, Pauline Mausser and husband Hank of Michigan, Anne Obradovich and husband Eli of Michigan and George Jellick and wife Eileen of Michigan; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, May 23, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services and Interment are private for the immediate family.
Interment will be in Mount Macrina Cemetery.
