Joseph T. Oziemblowsky, Sr., peacefully passed away to be with the Lord after extended care by UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, on… Joseph T. Oziemblowsky, Sr., peacefully passed away to be with the Lord after extended care by UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, on Tuesday, May 22, 2007.

He was a lifelong resident of Leckrone, Pa., son of Thomas and Josephine Oziemblowsky.

His parents, a sister Cecelia, and a niece Janet, preceded him in death.

Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, and was a graduate of German Township High School.

After working for 44 years in underground coal mines he retired from United States Steel Corporation, Maple Creek Mine, where he was a Production Mine Foreman.

He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corp in the South Pacific Theatre of Operations.

He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth; sons: Tom Oziemblowsky and wife Darla Jean; Joseph Oziemblowsky, Jr.; and Richard Oziemblowsky; grandchildren: Andrea Gearhart and husband David, Capt. T.J. Oziemblowsky USAF and wife, Delini, Pvt. Joseph Oziemblowsky, III. United States Army; Mary Luna and husband, Daniel; Daniel Oziemblowsky, and Cole Thomas Oziemblowsky; great grandchildren: Aaron Michael Luna, Noah Gearhart; Sarah Gearhart and Abram Gearhart; a sister, Genevieve Galmish; and nieces and nephews, Jerry, Jackie and Jane.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME,

INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., on Friday, May 25, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, May 26, 2007, until 8:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary, Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa., at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Father Donald R. Trexler as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584, and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
