Peter H. Reicholf, Jr., 74, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in his home with his… Peter H. Reicholf, Jr., 74, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born November 6, 1932, in Smithfield, Pa., son of Peter II Reicholf, Sr. and Mary (Ripper) Reicholf.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Freda Shuster, Bertha Franks, Katherine Williams, Eva Jarrett, Rose Ainsley and JoAnn Fields, brothers, Norbert, Joseph and Louis Dankle and son-in-law, Mike Cummings.
Peter was employed as a truck driver with Suburban Motor Freight in Cleveland, Ohio, prior to moving back to Pennsylvania then he was employed as a coal miner for many years at Duquesne Light Company, Warwick Mine with membership with the UMWA Local 6310.
He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church at Old Frame, Pa.
Peter loved farming, golfing, hunting, bowling, being a Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and really enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and their friends at the Smithfield Little League.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” (Sullivan) Reicholf; sons: Herman “Rick” Reicholf of Uniontown, Timothy Reicholf of Smithfield, Todd Reicholf and wife, Kimberly of South Amherst, Ohio, Mark Reicholf of Lake Lynn, P a., William “Bill” Reicholf and wife, Wendy of Smithfield, Pa.; daughters: Cathy (Reicholf) Hughes and husband, Gerald Hughes of Lorain, Ohio, and Robin (Reicholf) Johnson and husband, Charles Johnson, Jr. of Uniontown; stepdaughters: Dee Rodeheaver Cummings of Masontown and Toni Rodeheaver Swihart of Smithfield; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Floyd Dankle and Andrew Dankle both of Old Frame, Pa.; sister, Mary Weakland of Smithfield, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional viewing will be held in the OAK HILL BAPTIST CHURCH at Old Frame, Pa., on Saturday, May 26, 2007, from 9 to 10 a.m. Services begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Elliott officiating with interment following in the Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
