ASBURY UNITED METH-ODIST CHURCH, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street in Uniontown, announces in celebration of Pentecost, the Birthday of the Church, Sunday’s casual 9 a.m. service will include the Rev. Thomas E. Brown’s message “Happy Birthday Church,’ and praise choruses led by song leader Deb Conn and special music by pianist Sharon Brown. The basket will be passed at both services to collect money to purchase supplies to make UMCOR Health Kits to take to the annual conference June 6.

BARN OF PRAISE MINISTRY, located at 207 Hill Farm Road, Dunbar, below Monarch, is hosting a benefit gospel concert, car show and flea market on Saturday at the Fayette County Fairgrounds from 1 to 7 p.m. This benefit is to help a local family who is facing a sheriff’s sale on June 7. There will be children games, horse rides, face painting, Chinese auction, bingo and refreshments. Trophies will be given in the amateur gospel sing and the antique and classic car show. MASONTOWN COMMUNITY KITCHEN will celebrate Memorial Day by serving a picnic meal of ham and macaroni salad on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Masontown First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. The last Community Kitchen on May 15 had an attendance of 122 people who enjoyed the special taco salad prepared by the chefs. An additional 56 meals were provided as carry out for those unable to attend the event. The All Saints Christian Mothers announced they will host the meal on June 12.
