CALIFORNIA – The Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy, formerly the CalRep Pennsylvania Summer Theatre School, is back this summer. Applications are available for enrollment in the summer theater school hosted by California University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Theatre and Dance.

Students will have the opportunity to study all elements of musical theatre performance -acting, voice and dance – in an intensive two-week experience on the Cal University of Pennsylvania campus.

Summer 2007 marks the 10th session of this increasingly popular program, and it will once again culminate with a full musical.

Last year’s performance of “Dear Edwina Jr.” was a record-setting, musical romp that had audiences on their feet.

Beginning July 16th and ending July 27th, students will attend classes and rehearse the musical to be performed on the evening of July 27.

Students between the ages of 8 and 17 may apply.

Registration includes all scripts, music, costumes and lunch for each day of the school.

The musical will take place in the Performance Center, located inside the Natali Student Center on the Cal University of Pennsylvania campus.

The time and actual musical will be announced this summer.
