Rape reported

An unknown male forcibly entered a residence and raped a female occupant May 4 in the 400 block of South Pittsburgh Street. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Connellsville police at 724-628-2501, extension 110.

Fraud reported

Jennifer Sinsley of Belle Vernon reported to Southwest Regional police that a woman has been fraudulently using her identity to solicit donations on behalf of the Belle Vernon Area School District and the Mon Valley Sports Association since April, police said. The woman is described as a white female, possibly with blond hair, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 240 pounds, dressed in ragged clothes and operating a white vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at 724-929-8484.

Binoculars stolen

Southwest Regional police said that a pair of binoculars was stolen from a vehicle owned by William Breakiron of Belle Vernon at his residence on Brown Street between 6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.

State police said that a man from Mount Pleasant stole a pack of razor blades valued at $21.99 from JK’s County Market in East Huntington Township at 2:50 p.m. June 17.

Vehicle hits wall

State police said Tracy Soles of Mount Pleasant was not injured when her vehicle struck a stone wall on East Main Street in Mount Pleasant at 7:12 p.m. Sunday.

Hit-and-run reported

Kevin Schultz of Fredericktown told state police that someone struck the left side of his vehicle and fled while it was parked on Hastings Road between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

Fencil’s Personal Care Home reported that someone entered the building June 8 and stole medications.

Police are investigating the following thefts:

Mail and a newspaper was stolen June 8 in the 900 block of South Pittsburgh Street.

An air-conditioner and PS2 games were stolen in the 200 block of South 8th Street June 13.

A mosaic pot was stolen June 14 in the 900 block of West Crawford Avenue.

Registration plate YRM6163 was stolen June 15 in the 400 block of Snyder Street.

Medications were stolen from an unlocked vehicle June 19 in the 600 block of South 11th Street.

A gray Martin 25-inch women’s mountain bike was stolen June 18 in the 400 block of North Pittsburgh Street.

Police are investigating the following criminal mischief complaints:

On June 9, in the 200 block of Water Street a tire was slashed and a mirror was broken on a vehicle.

Someone overturned several newspaper machines and garbage cans June 9 along East Crawford Avenue.

Someone flattened a vehicle tire June 11 in the 300 block of East Green Street.

Someone covered a vehicle with shaving cream June 11 in the 200 block of Wills Road.

Eggs were thrown at a residence June 12 in the 300 block of East Washington Avenue.

Eggs were thrown at a vehicle June 19 in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue.

A window was broken June 18 in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street.

The door on the band shell at East Park was damaged June 18.

Attempted robbery

Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on West Apple Street and North Pittsburgh Street on June 17. They said a white male wearing a red bandana over his face and a red T-shirt, pounded on a vehicle window and demanded money. Police said the man fled in an older model white Oldsmobile sedan.

A short white male, thin build, blond hair wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and an orange ski mask demanded money from the Sunoco A Plus June 20.
