Results from the recent livestock auctions and crop sales in the region were as follows: —

The Pennsylvania Livestock Market Report for Waynesburg for May 24 is as follows:

CATTLE:

STOCK COWS: 55 to 68.50.

SLAUGHTER COWS: Utility and commercial, 50 to 62.50; boner and boning utility, 45 to 54; cutter and boning utility, 44 to 52; canner and low cutter, 42 to 48; shells, 40 down.

BULLS: Yield grade 1, 1,500-2,000 pounds, 48 to 65; grade 2, 1,000-1,400 pounds, 50 to 67.50.

FEEDER STEERS: Medium and light, 1, 300-500 pounds, 85 to 120; 250-280 pounds, 90 to 128; 600-900 pounds, 70 to 112.

HEIFERS: Medium and light, 1, 300-500 pounds, 84-106; light 1, 400-650 pounds, 70 to 90.

BULLS: Medium and light, 1, 300-620 pounds, 70 to 106.

CALVES: Veal…prime, 70-100; choice, 60-84; good, 40-84.

FARM CALVES: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 90-120 pounds, few, 65-155; No. 2, 80-100 pounds, few, 50-85. Beef – Bulls and heifers/head, 35-153.

HOGS: Barrows and gilts, 1-2, 210-255 pounds, 37 to 50; 2-3, 255-280 pounds, 34-50. Sows, 1-3 300-500 pounds, 24-50.

FEEDER PIGS: 1-3, 15-20 pounds, 12 to 28/head; 1-3, 25-35 pounds, 15 to 46/head.

LAMBS: High choice, 80-100 pounds, 45 to 118; choice, 40-75 pounds, 75-122. Feeder lambs, good, 60-100; sheep, 22-41; fat sheep, 19.50-25.

GOATS: Large, 65 to 95/head; medium, 50 to 115/head; small, 8 to 41/head.

HORSES: Horses, 20 to 53; ponies, 20 to 42.

Eighty Four Livestock Auction held in Eighty Four on May 21, results were:

CATTLE: 310 (PDA) Compared with last week’s sale; slaughter cows were .50-1 higher; bulls were mostly 3 higher.

STEERS: Select 1-2 one 91. Standard 1-2 couple 68 & 83.

HOLSTEIN STEERS: Choice 2-3 one 1290 pounds 74; Select 1-2 couple 68. Standard 1-2 51-61.

HEIFERS: select 1-2 one 74.

COWS: Breakers, 75-80 percent lean, 58-66. Boners, 80-85 percent lean, 50-57.50. Lean, 85-90 percent lean, 45-49.50. Shells 44 and down.

BULLS: Yield grade 1, 1065-2060 pounds, 66-77. Yield grade 2, 890-1760 pounds, 54-66

FEEDER CATTLE:

STEERS: Medium 1 730-864 pounds 89-104; Large 1 680-1035 pounds 70-86; few Medium and Large 2 465-575 pounds 100-109. Medium and Large 3 665-738 pounds 62-76.

HEIFERS: Medium 1 345-390 pounds, 110-118; 515-743 pounds 95-103; Medium and large 2 205-479 pounds 60-105; 510-650 pounds 74-97.

BULLS: Medium 1 530-590 pounds 97-109. Large 1 711-785 pounds 80-86. Medium and large 2 315-480 pounds 91-112.50; 505-675 pounds 76-90. Few large 3 185-215 pounds 105-112.

CALVES 118…(calves sold per hundredweight) Holstein bulls were 20-25 lower, 80 percent return to veal barns.

VEALERS: Standard and good, 75-135 pounds, 75-115; utility, 60-115 pounds, 26-65.

FARM CALVES: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 85-120 pounds, 155-175, one 190, No. 2, 85-135 pounds, 120-155; one No. 1 Holstein heifers, 85 pounds 400, No 2. 70-105 pounds 100-280. Beef cross bulls and heifers, 55-160 pounds, 95-215.

HOGS: 5

SOWS: few 1-3 320-410 pounds 20-28, couple Medium 355 & 375 pounds 18 & 22.

FEEDER PIGS: 0…No Market Test

SHEEP: 139…slaughter lambs were steady.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS: Choice 50-75 pounds 100-114.50; 83-93 pounds 104-113, Good and Choice 37-50 pounds 87-95.

SLAUGHTER SHEEP: 23-47.50, Yearlings 81.

GOATS: 19…(sold by the head).

KIDS: Selection 1 one 45 pounds, 54; one 60 pounds 77.50. Selection 2 one 50 pounds 55; couple 68 pounds 80.

YEARLINGS: Selection 2 60-80 pounds 72.50-87.50.

NANNIES: 100-190 pounds 37.50-47.50/per cwt.

BILLIES: couple 80 pounds 85-93; one 180 pounds 72.50/per cwt.

The Hay Market Summary for May 19 for Central Pennsylvania follows:
