May 27, 2007 Concert today
At 8 p.m. today, in the Laurel Hill Amphitheater, Somerset County, listen as Rich Pawlings and the History Alive! Boys Band use their acoustic talents for a journey through the life of a CCC worker. Oral music selections from the CCC era will include Rank Strangers, The Big Rock Candy Mountains and more. Between music selections, the legacy of the C’s will be interpreted and preserved for posterity. Rich Pawlings is a nationally recognized presenter. Parking will be available at the amphitheater.
Testing offered
The Republic Rotary Club is sponsoring a health awareness screening at the former Brownsville General Hospital from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2.
The multiphasic blood screening will take place in the boardroom in the former hospital building.
The base fee includes 39 tests from the patient’s blood sample. Additional fees will be charged for urinalysis, rheumatoid arthritis testing, thyroid profiles, prostate tests, the C-Reactive Protein (Cardiac CRP) test and colon-rectal screening. LabCorp of America will conduct the testing.
No insurance payments will be accepted. Testing must be paid for by cash or check at the time of the service. For more information, call 724-785-1719.
Meeting announced
The next meeting of the Fayette County HealthChoices Advisory Board is Wednesday, June 6, at 5 p.m. in Conference Room 1 (first floor) of the Fayette County MH/MR Program Office, 215 Jacob Murphy Lane, Uniontown. The meeting is open to the public.
