Flea market The Masontown United Methodist Church will hold a flea market on June 9 in the social hall from 9 a.m. until sometime in the afternoon. In addition to the flea market, there will be potato soup, hot dogs and soft drinks for sale.

Today, three young boys will be confirmed in the church: John and Carlus Skiles and Michael Lawrence. Sunday is also Pentecost and members are encouraged to wear something red. This is the last Sunday that services will be held at 11 a.m. as the MUMC begins its summer schedule in June. Beginning June 3, worship service will be at 10 a.m.

Italian Ladies Circle

The Masontown Italian Ladies Circle will meet on June 6 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the German-Masontown Park. Reservations are necessary.

Come and join fellow members for an evening of fun and good food.

In the event of rain, the dinner will be held at the Italian Citizens Club in Masontown.

HRV reunion

The Hunchuck, Rerko, Vrabel family reunion is planned for June 24 at the Gabler Pavilion at Mon View Park. Lunch will begin at 1 p.m. Members are asked to bring a covered dish. Details may be obtained by calling 724-366-9836 or 724-564-1271.

Family members are invited to bring items for the Chinese auction, and admission fees will remain at $5 for adults and $1 for children under 16.

Community Kitchen

The Masontown Community Kitchen will be celebrating Memorial Day by serving a picnic meal of ham and macaroni salad on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Masontown First Presbyterian Church, located at 102 W. Church Ave. in Masontown. Panera breads, deserts and beverages will also be offered.

The Rev. Bob Cole of the Masontown Brethren Church will lead the grace.

The community is requested to invite someone they may know who is in need of a meal and the social and spiritual fellowship that is found at the Kitchen to attend. The meal is free and open to anyone in need, but donations are graciously accepted.

The last Community Kitchen, held on May 15, had an attendance of 122 people who enjoyed the special taco salad prepared by the chefs. An additional 56 meals were provided as carry out for those who were unable to attend the event.

The All Saints Christian Mothers announced they will host the meal on June 12.
