Don Kooser of Scottdale told state police that two men with thin builds and dark hair stole his 1994 purple Chevrolet Beretta from a location on Kooser Road at 2 p.m. May 19, police said.

Sweep conducted
State police said 19 citations were issued for underage drinking at Highpoint Raceway in Dunkard Township between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Additionally, police said one person was charged with disorderly conduct and five other people were arrested and removed from the raceway.

Carl Sich Jr. of Brownsville was cited with disorderly conduct for repeatedly urinating in public outside his residence on Playford Avenue at 9:10 p.m. Monday, state police said.

A vehicle owned by Alecia Oplinski of Belle Vernon that had been reported stolen was recovered by police in Belle Vernon at 9:48 a.m. Tuesday Southwest Regional police said.

Brownsville police served an arrest warrant on Joseph Coburn, 30, no address listed, on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy. The warrant was served at 1:35 p.m. May 22, police said.

Quad operator cited
While responding to a complaint about all-terrain vehicles on Rebecca Street at 8 p.m. May 22, Brownsville police observed three quads in the area. Police said one quad sped past the police car and nearly struck some children. Police said the driver is believed to be a Uniontown man. The second quad was forced to stop and the third ATV turned and left the area.
Police said the operator of the second quad, James Harris, 24, of McClellandtown, was cited for driving while under suspension, driving without insurance, operating a quad on a roadway and other violations. John Ulery of 515 Green St. owns the quad, Brownsville. The vehicle was impounded.

Man tries to enter car
Frank Bobeck of Brownsville told police that his wife, Suzanne, was stopped at the traffic light at Market Street and Brownsville Avenue at 8:03 p.m. May 23 when a man attempted to get into the vehicle. The suspect was described as a black man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans, a denim jacket and a green shirt. Bobeck told police that his dog bit the man, thwarting an apparent theft attempt, according to police.

Brownsville police said someone broke into a mailbox on High Street in an incident reported at 10:27 a.m. May 19. Mail was torn. At the same time, someone attempted to break into St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 307 High St. A window was broken at the church, but no entry was gained, police said.

The rear window of a vehicle owned by Amy Garrett of Brownsville was broken while the vehicle was in the rear of the 500 block of High Street on May 23. The incident was reported at 11:15 p.m., police said.

Brownsville police cited William Knight, 21, of Denbo, for defiant trespassing and Peter Plutch Jr., 20, for defiant trespassing and criminal mischief after the two were found in the Brownsville Town House at 37 Market St. just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Ernest Liggett is the owner of the building, police said. Police said additional charges are expected against two other people.
