Concert set The Big Bedtime Story and Concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville.

Kweilin Nassar will lead the group, with special guest reader Jo Lieb from the Herald-Standard and Cinderella right out of her own story. Pittsburgh CLO Mini Stars will entertain with songs and dances from Broadway.

Westmoreland Community College will serve milk and cookies. There will be free books for the children and prizes. Children are welcome to dress in their pajamas.

Other activities will include a fire safety presentation from the South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department and a nutritionist from the Fayette County Community Action Agency Inc.

Honors planned

Waynesburg College will present Dr. Calvin C. Rush with the Golden Key Award during the Alumni Banquet at the College’s Alumni Day on Saturday.

Rush will be recognized with the award for his lifetime of significant leadership and involvement with the College.

A former Trustee of Waynesburg College, Rush has held numerous memberships including the Lions Club, the Greene County Medical Society, the American Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology – Board Certified, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to his many civic memberships, Rush has served as a long-term supporter for Waynesburg College’s MBA program.

Described as a family man with a quiet spirit, Rush established a practice of ophthalmology in Waynesburg and worked faithfully in the position for several years.
