Press conference set on partnership
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg College will hold a press conference Friday, at 1:30 p.m. to publicize details surrounding a new partnership between Correctional TeleCare Solutions and a variety of economic development leaders in southwestern Pennsylvania. Among those scheduled to take part in the meeting are members of Greene County Industrial Developments, Inc., state Rep. H. William DeWeese, (D-Waynesburg), U. S. Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Johnstown), the Greene County Board of Commissioners and Waynesburg College.
Correctional TeleCare Solutions will occupy two modern state-of-the-art telemedicine suites and additional office space in the Center for Research and Economic Development at Waynesburg College.
Greene County Commissioner Chair Pam Snyder and Waynesburg College President Timothy Thyreen and DeWeese will be on hand to discuss the opportunities associated with this partnership. The press conference will be held on the first floor of the Center for Research and Economic Development on the campus of Waynesburg College.
Correctional TeleCare Solutions is a Pennsylvania-based company that provides comprehensive telemedicine services to the correctional industry and populations in rural areas. Its services consist of both primary care and specialty health care providers, distant learning, “connected” telehealth communication equipment and networking services for use in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients in other locations.
The Center for Research and Economic Development, which was opened in January 2007, is a resource for business and industry, applying the College’s scientific research and business expertise to real-world projects.
Activities associated with the Center for Research and Economic Development stimulates economic development in southwestern Pennsylvania. The joint effort with Correctional TeleCare Solutions represents one initiative of how the center contributes to the long-term sustainable economic future of the area.
