The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored Frank McGrogan of Mount Pleasant, a junior at Geibel Catholic High School, as a student of the month for January. The son of Frank and Eleanor McGrogan, he is undecided about which post secondary school he will attend, but plans to possibly study chemistry or mathematics. McGrogan’s work experience includes volunteering at the Lenten fish fry in his parish. He is also an altar server and is a member of the youth group. His awards include receiving a National Science Merit Award.
McGrogan is very involved in the extracurricular activities at Geibel Catholic High School. His activities include: president of the Chess Club, track, Quiz League, Math League and Spanish National Honor Society.
