      BENEFIT CONCERT – The Daughters of Grace Christian Women’s Choir will hold a benefit concert on Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. The evening’s offering will benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and the upcoming Relay For Life. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served following the concert.       SPAGHETTI DINNER – The Waynesburg University Guatemala Mission Group will sponsor a spaghetti dinner on Friday, April 11 from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on High Street. All proceeds will benefit the fundraising efforts of a playground at the Nutritional Center in Patzun, Guatemala.       FREE SCREENING – A free hearing screening will be held at the Waynesburg Senior Center on Friday, April 11 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. There will be an Otiscope available to check ears for wax, and cleaning of hearing aids will also be offered.

      PHOTO CLASSES – The Greene County Dept. of Recreation will hold digital photography classes on April 11 and April 25 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the county fairgrounds’ 4-H Building. For more information, call 724-852-5323.

      SAT WORKSHOPS – The Bowlby Public Library is holding SAT Prep workshops on three successive Saturdays in April (12, 19, 26) for the May test date. The workshop will cover math, English grammar and composition and general test-taking tips. Workshops will be limited to 15 total participants to ensure maximum individual contact.       BOOK SALE – Central Greene Education Association and Relay For Life will sponsor a “Used Book Sale and Reading Extravaganza” on Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Waynesburg Central High School Cafeteria. Hardbacks and paperbacks will be for sale, and the event will also include storytelling, face painting and a bake sale.

      CHURCH JUBILEE – Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church is holding their monthly Jubilee on Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m. The guest performers will be Paul and Kathy Kramer, and the charity for the evening will be the Graysville/New Freeport Food Bank. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served at the end of the evening.

      SAFETY EVENT – The state police will be conducting a free child restraint check from 10 a.m. to noon April 15 at the Fox Ford auto dealership on East High Street in Waynesburg. Certified child restraint technicians from the state police will be on hand to assist parents with their child seats. Police said any area residents who would like to have their child seats checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure the seats are encouraged to attend.

      SQUARE DANCE – A square dance will be held at the Rogersville Fire Hall on April 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. Caller will be Dave Dahl. There is a cost for the event. The auxiliary will be selling food and beverages from 6 to 10 p.m.

      RAMP FEST – The 18th annual Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival will be held April 19-20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
