Alma G. (Jones) Stevenson, 89 of Belle Vernon, formerly of Newell, died Monday, July 28, 2008 in Thorpe’s Personal Care… Alma G. (Jones) Stevenson, 89 of Belle Vernon, formerly of Newell, died Monday, July 28, 2008 in Thorpe’s Personal Care Home, Charleroi, Pa.
She was born March 30, 1919 in Newell, Pa., daughter of the late George Fuller and the late Mary Albert Fuller. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon.
Alma was a 1937 graduate of Brownsville High School and spent her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed dining out and shopping.
Surviving are: Son, Randy Stevenson and wife Teddi of Belle Vernon; Sister, Lorraine Harger of Middletown, Ohio; Step-Granddaughter, Dana Babirad and husband Jeff of Charleroi; Great Granddaughter, Katie Babirad and three nieces: Deanna Lynch, Marsha Halsey, Lisa Harger all of Middletown, Ohio. Also survived by several grand nieces and nephews of Middletown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Herbert Stevenson and her second husband of 5 years, John Jones.
Friends will be received in the ELEY/MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Main St. Fayette City on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 4, 2008 until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will take place with the Reverend Father Lawrence Manchas officiating.
Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania. www.eleymccroryfuneral home.com
