Aug. 3, 2008 Benefit today

A benefit will be held beginning at noon today at Pizon’s Place on Route 51 near Smock.

The event will raise money for Jim Booher, 32, of Perryopolis, who was diagnosed in October 2006 with lymphoma cancer. He now has Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s cancer, and his white blood cells are low.

A hog roast will be held to raise money for his medical expenses. Booher wants to save enough money so he can have additional treatments performed at Houston’s Cancer Center.

The event will feature six live bands, door prizes, a Chinese auction and more.
