Louise A. (Kaider) Skurski, 86, of New Salem, Pa, formerly of 9812 National Pike, Uniontown, died on Sunday, August 3,… Louise A. (Kaider) Skurski, 86, of New Salem, Pa, formerly of 9812 National Pike, Uniontown, died on Sunday, August 3, 2008, at the home of Vince and Debbie Kaider.
She was born on August 25, 1921, in Searights, Pa., daughter of Thomas and Julia (Kallian) Kaider who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Skurski on August 2, 2003, brothers, Joseph, Stanley, and John Kaider and a sister, Albena Kacmar.
Louise was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and had retired from Berkowitz Garment Factory where she worked for over 15 years. She loved gardening and sewing and was an avid reader.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved sister, Sophie Marsol of Connellsville, Pa; close nephews and nieces: Vincent and Debbie Kaider of New Salem, Pa., with whom she made her home; Joann and Domer Dewitt of Connellsville, Pa.; a Goddaughter, Mary Lou Kaider; and many other dear nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, August 7, 2008, until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, Pa., at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
St. Joseph’s Parish Family Vigil by the Ministry of Consolation will be held today at 3:15 p.m. followed by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
