Alice Virginia (Benson) Whipkey, 85, of White Rock, Pa, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital with… Alice Virginia (Benson) Whipkey, 85, of White Rock, Pa, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital with her loving family at her bedside.
She was born May 17, 1923, in Uniontown, Pa, daughter of the late Charles Benson and Nellie Wilson Benson Hidock.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dalton James Whipkey, a brother, Clayton Benson and a daughter, Mary Whipkey.
She is survived by four children: James C. Whipkey and his wife, Linda of Fairchance, Pa., Diana J. Keegan and her husband, Ray of Greensburg, Pa., Charles Evans Whipkey and his wife, Pam of Fredericksburg, Va., and Lauren A. Mansberry and her husband, Leland of Uniontown, Pa.; five grandchildren: Sarah, Deysi, Lindsay, Samantha and Benjamin; and two great-grandchildren: Noah and Laura.
Virginia will always be remembered for her love of playing cards and listening to her favorite music with her family.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, August 15, 2008, until 10 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Randy Costolo officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
