1 min read

Emergency personnel work to extricate people involved in a two-vehicle collision late Wednesday. Connellsville police continue to investigate the cause of the accident that sent three people to the hospital. Police said that Gayle Patterson, 35, of 1242 Lower Sandy Hollow Road, Vanderbilt, was traveling west on East Crawford Avenue when her 1998 Chevrolet Blazer and a vehicle driven by Shane Yauger, 34, of 244 E. Fairview Avenue, who was traveling south on Pittsburgh Street, collided. The impact, said police, caused Patterson’s vehicle to spin and then turn over on its side. In addition to Patterson, two passengers in her vehicle, Joshua Patterson, 15, and Jessica Patterson, 13, were taken to Highlands Hospital by Fayette EMS. Police said the injuries were minor. Police said Yauger, who was driving a 1993 Ford F-150 truck, was not injured. In addition to city police and Fayette EMS, New Haven Hose Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the 9:08 p.m. accident.
