He was… Harold E. Morris of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born July 17, 1917 in Perryopolis, Pa., the son of Leroy J. and Mary Elizabeth McMillen Morris.
Harold was retired from the Allied Chemical Plant in Newell, Pa. after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, Pa., the Holy Name Society, a 3rd degree member of Council No. 4427, Knights of Columbus, Perryopolis, Pa., a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Assembly 921, Connellsville, Pa. and a member of the Santa Barbara Club of Newell, Pa.
Harold is survived by his daughter Eleanor J. Morris with whom he made his home, a sister Harriette Layhew of Washington, Pa. and many nie ces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Velona Jane Graham Morris on January 19, 2002, two brothers Edgar V. and J. Dane Morris and one sister Gladys Hawn.
I would like to thank our many friends in the Perryopolis Flower Club, St. John’s Altar Society and Randall’s Restaurant for the thoughtful consideration and kindness shown to Dad. It provided him with many enjoyable hours of friendship and me with so many wonderful memories.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa. today from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, Pa. The Reverend Father Bob Lubic as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis.
A Wake Service will be held Sunday in the Funeral Home. Bishop O’Connor Assembly 921, 4th degree, Connellsville, Pa. will conduct a service at 7 p.m.; Knights of Columbus Council No. 4427, 3rd degree, Perryopolis, Pa. will conduct a service Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
