76 of McClelland-town, Pa., passed away Friday, August 15, 2008, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born January 12, 1932 in Ronco, Pa., the son of Albert and Louise (Oberleitner) Brennsteiner.
In addition to his parents, a brother, John Joseph Brennsteiner, preceded him in death.
Albert graduated in 1950 from All Saints High School, Masontown, Pa. and worked at Fike Chevrolet until enlisting in the United States Army during the Korean War. After leaving the army, he attended Central Technical Airline School in Kansas City, Mo. and spent the next 37 years working for Capital and United Airlines in Newark, N.J. He retired March 1, 1995 to a small farm in McClellandtown, Pennsylvania.
Albert was an usher at St. Frances DeSales Church, McClellandtown and All Saints Church, Masontown, Pa., where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the VFW Post 4584 and American Legion Fort Mason Post 423, Masontown, Pa., Capital Airlines Association, Retired United Airlines Employees Association and AARP.
Survived by his beloved brother, Ernest Brennsteiner, Sr. and his wife Bernadine (Blout) of Johnstown, Pa.; beloved sister, Marie Durschlag of McClellandtown, Pa.; sister-in-law, and Edith Gale (Gates) Rubino of New Eagle, Pa.; the following nephews and nieces: John Joseph and Susan Brennsteiner, McClellandtown, Pa.; Karl Brennsteiner, Tampa, Fla., William Brennsteiner, Uniontown, Pa., Carrie Brennsteiner, McClellandtown, Pa., Drs. Albert and Shannon Brennsteiner, Lake Jackson, Texas, Paul Brennsteiner, Clairton, Pa., Michael and Becky Brennsteiner, Smock, Pa., Ernest and Patricia Brennsteiner, Jr., Johnstown, Pa., James and Elin Brennsteiner, Johnstown, Pa., Stephanie and James Mical, Johnstown, Pa., Amy Hrpchak, Ebensburg, Pa., Dr. Richard Durschlag, Cape Porpoise, Maine, Diana and Paul Aker, Charlotte, N.C., Maurice and Pamela Durschlag, Charlotte, N.C., Robert and Heidi Durschlag, Charlotte, N.C.; 24 great nephews and nieces and Gloria Rodriguez as special, faithful friend, Elizabeth, N.J.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River Avenues, Masontown, Pa., today, August 17, 2008 from 1 to 8 p.m., Parish Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today.
Prayers of Transfer will be said Monday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown with the Reverend Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Church or Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pennsylvania.
