Malloy, 69 of Jeannette Pa., died on Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Excela Health Westmore-land Hospital surrounded by her family after a ten-year courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 2, 1938 in the Mt. Oliver section of Pittsburgh, Pa. to John Holzer and Helen Schoeppner Holzer.
Carol was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and a former member of the Church Choir. She enjoyed music, baking, ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Joseph P. Malloy.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Michael Malloy, Jr.; two daughters: Lisa Malloy of Greensburg and Kelly Lazzara and husband Louis of Greensburg; two grandchildren: Killian and Lauren Lazzara; two brothers: Robert Holzer and wife Dorothy of Macedonia, Ohio and Thomas Holzer and wife Judith of Pittsburgh; her God-daughter Kaylee Malloy and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Carol in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020 on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m.
Prayers will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Greensburg, Pa.
