United in marriage were April Anne Slokan of Moundsville, W.Va., and Dr. Matthew Oliverio of Morgantown, W.Va. The Rev. Terrance Adams officiated the nuptial Mass Dec. 1 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Moundsville. A reception at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling followed.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Slokan of Eighth Street, Moundsville. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Oliverio of Heritage Hills Road, Uniontown.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a silk and satin beaded and metallic embroidered ball gown with pick-up skirt and chapel-length train. A gold tiara with pearls and Swarovski crystals held a chapel-length veil adorned with pearls.

Dawn Slokan, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Rothman, cousin of the bridegroom, and Natalea Oliverio, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Jordan Spencer, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

Louis Oliverio was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Thomas Slokan, brother of the bride, and Dr. Alton Temple. Colin Kimberling, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.

The bride graduated from West Virginia University School of Nursing and West Virginia University College of Law. She is an attorney at the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson, PLLC, in Morgantown.

The bridegroom is a graduate of West Virginia University College of Agriculture and West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is a resident physician in the Department of Otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at West Virginia University Hospitals.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev.

They reside at Suncrest Place, Morgantown.
