Born March 20, 1919, in Creighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Harry and Rose Novick.
Mr. Novick graduated in 1937 from Springdale High School and attended the now former New Kensington School of Business.
He was a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army.
Mr. Novick worked as a Social Security field manager at the Washington (Pa.) office for ten years.
He had also been a self-employed barber. He owned and operated Novick’s Barber Shop in California, Pa., for over 50 years.
He had been an amateur boxer in his youth.
He enjoyed writing.
On June 20, 1940, he married Rose Fick Novick, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dr. Peter Novick and his wife Carolyn of Santa Barbara, California; three grandchildren: Todd Novick and his wife Jeanine, Chad Novick and Alexy Novick; also several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his parents, two sisters, Pauline Peckney and Mary Wasiloff, and seven brothers, John Novick, George Novick, Steve Novick, Walter Novick, Sam Novick, Paul Novick, James Novick.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pennsylvania, where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Ezatoff officiating.
Interment follows in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmer Township, Pennsylvania.
