Oscar H. Clark, age 59, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, died at his residence with his loving family by his side on… Oscar H. Clark, age 59, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, died at his residence with his loving family by his side on Monday, August 18, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 1, 1948, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Oscar Clark and Zelphia “Betty” Clark Adkins.
Mr. Clark retired as a Supervisor from the now former Anchor Glass Company in South Connellsville after 34 years of service.
He was a United States Navy Veteran who served as a BT3 aboard the U.S.S. Lexington until his Honorable Discharge in 1969.
He was a member of the Polish Independent Club in Connellsville.
Oscar was Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, by his step mother, Billie Clark, and by a stepfather, Bernie Adkins.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha B. (Johnson) Clark; three children: Stephen Clark and wife Valeta of Nokomis, Florida, Angela D. Clark and husband Jody and Sean R. Clark both of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren: Brian Clark, Bradley Clark, Samantha Clark, Seth Clark, Calvin Clark and Caelin Clark; a half sister, Cheryl Jose of Keyser, West Virginia; a stepbrother, Rick Hatfield and wife Debbie of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a step sister, Jill Journell and husband James of Proctorville, Ohio.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave McElroy officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa., with Full Military Rites accorded at graveside by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 21 and the American Legion Post 301 and Post 762.
In lieu of flowers, Family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Autism Foundation.
