Charges filed in Greene stabbing

State police in Greene County have filed multiple charges against a 48-year-old Bobtown man accused of stabbing his son in the stomach during an altercation in Dunkard Township on Aug. 12. Floyd Radcliff was charged last week before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson with two felony counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following the incident.

Additionally, police said the man’s son, Steve Heath Radcliff, 32, of Bobtown was charged before Watson Aug. 13 with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for his alleged role in the altercation.

During a physical altercation at the home around 11:45 p.m., police said Floyd Radcliff stabbed his son with a kitchen knife, and Steve Radcliff punched and kicked his father multiple times.

It is not clear why the men were fighting.

Police said when they arrived at the residence, they found Steve Radcliff suffering a puncture wound to his abdomen and Floyd Radcliff with a cuts and bruises on his face and ribs.

Both men were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment following the altercation.

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Watson.
