He was born on November 13, 1914, in Hopwood, Pa., son of John and Anna (Snopel) Filcheck.
His parents, wife, Marie (Mazurik) Filcheck, son, Ronald Filcheck, brothers, John Filcheck, Steve Filcheck, Edward Filcheck and sisters, Marie Taylor, Margaret Filcheck, Helen Tudor and Ann Seaman preceded him in death.
Joseph was Catholic by faith.
Left to cherish his memory are several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, August 21, 2008, until 9:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held with the Rev. Father Joseph Kapusnak officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Parastas Service will be held today at 7 p.m.
