He was… George Thomas Edwards, 59 of Uniontown died Friday, August 22, 2008 in the South Fayette Nursing Center.
He was born May 22, 1949 in Uniontown, Pa., a son of George John Edwards and Blanche Mansberry Edwards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Harry Edwards and Walter Leroy Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was involved for several years with Special Olympics.
Surviving are five siblings: Gayle Edwards Victor of Uniontown, Paul Alan Edwards of Kentucky, James Dewey Edwards of Okla., Cheryl Edwards Knox of Connellsville, Pa. and Sheila Edwards Greer of Smithfield, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with the Reverend Alfred Thompson and the Reverend Terry Sanders officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
