He was born May 22, 1925 in Uniontown.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Jesse Jobes Whetsel, a son Charles Richard Whetsel in 1993, four siblings, Gomer, Robert and William Whetsel and Eleanor Boor and Son-in-law, Robert Rebovich.
Mr. Whetsel was a member of the Uniontown Central Christian Church and had been a sign painter with the E. J. Boor Sign Company.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Stehney Whetsel; three daughters: Dolores Rebovich, Linda Whetsel and Debra Whetsel, all of Uniontown; two grandchildren: Kristi Lukenich and husband Shaun of McDonald, Pa. and Craig Rebovich and wife Cassie of Alexandria, Va., two very special great-grandchildren: Morgan and Griffin Lukenich, whom he loved and adored and a sister Joann Holtzendorf of Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services are under the direction of the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME and will be private.
