Walter J. Brangard, 68 of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 in the South Fayette Nursing Center of… Walter J. Brangard, 68 of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 in the South Fayette Nursing Center of Markleysburg with his niece Michelle Myers by his side.
He was born November 27, 1939 in Old Wynn, Fayette County, Pa., son of Peter J. and Sara Guthrie Brangard.
Walter was a member of the Point Marion Apostolic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Thelma Salisbury Brangard and five brothers, Edward, Pete, Ralph, John and Clarence Brangard, two sisters, Evelyn Davis and Pearl Hibbard. Walter was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his niece Michelle Myers of Fairchance, he is survived by four step-sons: Cornelius Robinson of San Bernadino, California, Michael Robinson of Greensboro, Kevin Robinson and Rodney Robinson of Dilliner and several nieces and nephews.
Walter was well known for his great love and passion for all of his animals.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 25, 2008 in the POINT MARION APOSTOLIC CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Pastor David Lee Corob officiating.
Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.
