By The 1 min read

A preliminary hearing scheduled for this week has been delayed for a Greene County woman charged with homicide by vehicle in the March 2007 death of a Waynesburg teen. State police said Britnee Nicole Moore, 19, of Waynesburg was charged in July before Magisterial District Judge Glenn Bates with homicide by vehicle and five traffic-related offenses in the crash that killed Hope Katelynd Maley, 16.

Police said the crash occurred as Maley was traveling south on Route 218 around 9 p.m. March 13 in Franklin Township, when a car driven by Moore crossed the center line after failing to negotiate a curve.

Moore’s vehicle traveled into the southbound lane and struck the vehicle Maley was driving head-on about 200 feet south of Randy Hoge Road, police said.

According to Trooper John E. Pash, Moore was traveling in excess of 70 mph at the time of the collision, based on analysis by Cpl. Joseph D’Andrea, a state police crash reconstruction expert.

The posted speed limit on the road is 45 mph.

A new hearing has been set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Greene County Courthouse.
