‘Cooking for Crowds’ offered
WAYNESBURG – At this time of the year many nonprofit groups and churches plan fall festivals and gatherings so they need to be sure they are serving safe food, according to Carolyn Wissenbach, extension educator from Penn State. “Civic groups need to know food safety practices to avoid a food borne outbreak at their event,” Wissenbach said. It’s the simple things like knowing that cross contamination can occur from your hands or a towel, not just the cutting board and knife.
“Cooking for Crowds” is a food safety workshop for nonprofit groups. Penn State Cooperative Extension will offer “Cooking for Crowds” on Thursday, Sept. at 1 p.m. at the Carmichaels Senior Center The cost is $15 for per person (includes manual) or $5 for those not receiving a manual.
