By The 1 min read

Scottdale police have filed several charges against a Connellsville man accused of holding up the Scottdale Pharmacy on Monday. Police said Kyle A. Keefer was charged before Magisterial District Judge Roger Eckels with robbery, theft, possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

According to officials, the charges were filed against Keefer after he entered the pharmacy on Pittsburgh Street and passed a note to an employee demanding Oxycontin pills. During the exchange, Keefer allegedly showed a handgun.

He fled the store with an undetermined amount of medication and was later found by police at his home in Connellsville.

Keefer was placed in the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond.

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge J. Bruce King.
