Dale L. “Mac” McAllister, age 90, of Masontown, Pa., died Saturday, February 2, 2008, with his loving family at his… Dale L. “Mac” McAllister, age 90, of Masontown, Pa., died Saturday, February 2, 2008, with his loving family at his side.
He was born on December 30, 1916, in Cortland, New York, son of C. McAllister and Edith (Young) McAllister.
“Mac” served his country in the Panama Canal Zone with the United States Army.
He was later employed as a Coal Broker with Consol Energy.
He was a Protestant by faith and a member of The Pals Cub in Masontown, Pa.
“Mac” married his wife, Stella (Tassone) McAllister, on October 13, 1951, and they lived happily for 56 years.
“Mac” was a thoughtful and caring person who enjoyed listening to Gospel music and always made himself available to help his family and friends as well as his community.
“Mac” was predeceased by his parents and four brothers and was the last living member of his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Stella McAllister, who visited him daily and lovingly cared for his every need; sister-in-law, Yolanda Speggen of Masontown, Pa.; two nephews: Gary Speggen of Masontown, Pa., and Dale Speggen of Uniontown, Pa.; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River avenues, Masontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 5, 2008, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. when Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Randy Byers officiating.
Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
