Henry “Jack” Houston, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away after a brief illness in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West… Henry “Jack” Houston, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away after a brief illness in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, Wednesday morning, January 30, 2008.

He was born August 11, 1928, in York, Pa., the son of lHenry Allen Houston and Gertrude Elzie Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Irene Walker and Ella Mae Settles, and one brother, Fred Houston.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 54 years, Virginia Williams Houston; a devoted nephew, Rick Settles, also Fred Houston and Darwin Houston; three nieces: Jean King, Beverly Walker and Denise Walker.

“Jack” was a member of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Fairchance, Pa., Member of the Trustees and Property Chairman, and former member of the Gospel Chorus and the Male Chorus.

He worked in the steel mills in Clairton for 42 years.

“Jack” was also President of the Kegglers Bowling League.

He served in the United States Army, Korean War.

Family and friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, February 4, 2008, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. His Pastor, the Rev. Robert A. Crable, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
