Helen Venick Guzy, age 78, of Uniontown, Pa passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 in Plantation, Florida.

She was… Helen Venick Guzy, age 78, of Uniontown, Pa passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 in Plantation, Florida.

She was born March 12, 1929 in Revere, Pa., the daughter of Alexander Venick and Mary Kanafuska Venick.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the owner of Guzy’s Market and was a local Real Estate Agent.

She loved to water color and loved to cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Walter A. Guzy who passed away on January 8, 2006. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Rose, Mary, Katie and Ann, and brothers, Frank, Andy, Daniel, Michael and Joseph.

Helen is survived by her loving and devoted children: Diane Guzy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Leonard Guzy and his wife, Marlene, of Uniontown, Pa., Nancy Guzy Venick of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jerome Guzy of Miami, Florida; and her grandchildren whom she adored: Carolena Elizabeth Guzy and Jeremy Leonard Guzy. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Skiera and her husband, Val, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; and her brother, John Venick and his wife, Helen, of Clarksville, Pa.; several loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, February 4, 2008, from 12 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, with the Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint John Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary of Uniontown, 157 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Saint Joseph Parish Family Vigil Service by the Ministry of Consolation will be held in the Funeral Home today, February 4, 2008, at 2:15 p.m.

Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary will conduct Services in the Funeral Home today at 6 p.m.
