She was the devoted daughter of the late Stanley T. and Maryanne Habrat Partyka.
They were founding members of St. Casimir R.C. Church of Keisterville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters, John Partyka, Helen Sibulski, Sophia Partyka, Viola Muha and Joseph Partyka.
Bernice was a member of the St. Hedwig R.C. Church of Smock and a former member of the St. Casimir R.C. Church of Keisterville, she was the oldest living member of the Keisterville Community. After her graduation from the Fayette County Public Schools in 1925 she was awarded a certificate of preparation for high school, she excelled in the Peterson method of handwriting. After school, she and her sisters sought work in New York settling in the Brooklyn area and working in the Horn and Hardart Automat Cafeteria, later she began work at Berger Lamp and Harp Industries. Upon her retirement in the early 1970’s she returned to the family homestead in Keisterville where she enjoyed gardening and preserving. She remained at the family homestead until the passing of her sister, Sophia in June of 2007, after which she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Waynesburg, Pa.
Left to cherish her memory are niece and nephews: Lorie Krystoff, Edward and Kenneth Muha, Barbara Sibilski Hagan, Stanley and Marlene Partyka; great nephews and nieces: Joseph, Daniel and Lana Partyka.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, on Friday, February 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, February 9, 2008 until 9:15 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the St. Hedwig R.C. Church Smock with Rev. Father John A Sedlak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Hedwig Church Cemetery, Brier Hill.
The Parish Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. followed by the Parish Wake service at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
