William R. Baker, 89, of Penncraft, Pa., passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born… William R. Baker, 89, of Penncraft, Pa., passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born August 7, 1918, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of the late David Baker and Pearl Ulery Baker.
William was a retired Luzerne Township Supervisor, after 55 years of service, a member of the Township Supervisors Association, the Tower Hill 2 Fire Department, and the Music Union of Uniontown.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Rainy and Paul Baker, sisters Anna Wandel and Verna Faber, and his parents.
Surviving are his wife of sixty seven years, Leoda Durigon Baker; sons, William Baker and wife Kathy of Mentor, OH, Robert Baker and wife Jennifer of Uniontown, Pa., and Roger Baker and wife Mattie of Brownsville, Pa.; grandchildren, William Baker Jr. and wife Lisa of Concord, OH, Kathleen Rau and husband Chaz of Willoughby, OH, David Baker and wife Julie of Concord, OH, Robert Baker and wife Julie, Christopher Baker and wife Krista of Uniontown, Lindy Booker and husband Donald and Megan Combi and husband Andrew of Brownsville, Pa., great grandchildren, Brigham, Bailey, Quinn and Abby Baker, Noah and Chase Rau, and Tyler Baker all of Ohio, and Brayden Baker of Uniontown, and Talia Booker of Brownsville.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 19 Legion Street, Republic,Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Michael Peton officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in William’s name maybe made to the Allison Christian Church.
