Edward M. Susa, 82, of Gates, Pa., died on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital. He had been… Edward M. Susa, 82, of Gates, Pa., died on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital. He had been a patient at Haragos Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa.

He was born on November 4, 1925, in Masontown, Pa., son of John and Mary (Chupella) Susa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Petillo of New Jersey, and Margaret Krulock of Ohio, and a brother, John of Indiana. Also preceding him in death were his brothers-in-law, Robert Strcula, August Cappellanti and George H. Smith.

Edward was very much loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He loved to travel and was a very avid fan of the Pitt Panther football team and the Pittsburgh Symphony. He spent many winters skiing at the local resorts and in the New England states and liked taking the windjammers out to sea. Edward also loved his cocker spaniel dogs, especially Mindy.

Edward was employed by H.C. Frick Company and United States Steel Company and worked at the Filbert Shop until his retirement.

He is survived by his brother, Stephen W. Susa of Uniontown; sisters: Irene Susa of Uniontown, Antoinette Susa Cappellanti of Charleston, W. Va., and Dolores Susa Strcula Smith of Uniontown; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.

At the request of the family, the viewing and funeral will be private and under the direction of HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa.

Interment will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa., with the Rev. Father Donald P. Trexler officiating.
