4-H leadership workshops offered
The 4-H Communication Club leaders will hold three workshops, which offer 4-H officer’s training. The Communications Club is a local 4-H club, centered in Uniontown, and is led by Cathy Brady and Casey Sirochman of Uniontown.
The club activities include preparing and presenting speeches and/or presentations to the public, community service, and leadership roles, such as finding ways to serve better the community.
The club has been active for three years, and is still going strong with many activities. The upcoming training being promoted explores the world of officers, such as president, vice-president, treasurer, etc., but on a club level.
All of these clubs will focus on learning important leadership skills, such as the importance of community diversity, learning public speaking skills, enhancing teamwork skills and community service.
The workshops are open to all youth ages 8-18. (Note: You do not have to be a 4-H member to attend.)
The first training is Saturday and will focus on being a president and/or vice-president of a club. Training for news reporters and secretary will be held on March 15.
April 19 marks the date for training to become a club treasurer, song leader, or social chairperson.
All trainings are held at the Penn State Cooperative Extension office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be door prizes, lunch and ice cream sundaes for everyone.
