Uniontown man’s preliminary hearing continued

By The 1 min read

A preliminary hearing was continued Tuesday for a man accused of firing several shots in Pershing Court in Uniontown in December. Antonio T. Lanko, 22, of Uniontown was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, illegally discharging a firearm and disorderly conduct following the shooting. Uniontown police Officer Michael C. Garrow Sr. said the charges are a result of the shots fired in Pershing Court.

Garrow said he and other officers entered Pershing Court on foot and saw Lanko walking around in a parking lot carrying a handgun in his right hand and a long gun in his left hand. Garrow said Lanko had both guns raised in the air as he walked around, screaming and talking to himself.

Police ordered Lanko to put the guns down but said Lanko did not comply, Garrow said.

Garrow said Lanko then entered an apartment. After trying to talk him out of the home, Garrow said Lanko was able to flee a rear door on foot.
