Lori’s Look
A friend of mine told me last week that February, which is the shortest month of the year, also is the busiest month of the year. The whole month is Black History Month, and this year includes nine days of events – Groundhog Day on the 2nd, Fat Tuesday on the 5th, Ash Wednesday on the 6th, Chinese New Year on the 7th, Lincoln’s Birthday on the 12th, Valentines Day today, President’s Day on the 18th, Washington’s Birthday on the 22nd and Leap Year on the 29th.
So, with the busy month come a lot of stories. And while we can only publish a handful in Spin It in print, we have quite a cache of them on www.howyouspinit.com. And, we update Spin It online every day, so there always is something fresh for your inquisitive eyes.
We have several compelling articles in this week’s insert including part two of Chris Haines and Chris Sikes’ Hawaiian vacation story. Jen Harr also has a great article on paella, including a recipe on the back page.
We have our Rock 4 The Heart event coming up Feb. 22, which is next week. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at several locations in Uniontown including the State Theatre and the Herald-Standard office on Church Street.
All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association, and the three bands – Payl, Maubus and Etiera – are awesome.
It is sure to be a great show for a great cause.
So we hope to see all of our Spinsters there.
