She was born Sunday, March 10, 1912, in Butler, Pa., a daughter of the late Octavio and Eva (Troiano) Romito.
After the untimely death of her mother, Dena and her oldest sister helped in raising her 12 younger siblings in Charleroi. Dena was a loving mother and grandmother. She had worked at the Corning Glass factory for 14 years and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild.
In addition to her parents Dena was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Campagna in 1982, two brothers, Tars and Etlo Romito, and three sisters, Urana Burns, Vera Romito and Cora Volosin.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children: David Campagna and his lovely wife, Irene, of Hiller, Pa and Ava Wright and husband, Wally of California, Pa.; three grandchildren: Rachel Ruscitti, Meredith Campagna, and Wade Wright; four brothers: Tony Romito of Charleroi, Albert Romito of Coraopolis, Paul Romito of Miami, Fla. and Donald Romito and wife, Ruby of Charleroi. Also surviving are four sisters: Nellie Similo of Detroit, MI, Gloria Doty and husband Albert of New Eagle, Audrey Henrion of Monongahela and Elaine Niccolai of New Eagle.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa. today, February 19, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, when a blessing service will be held in the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church with Father George Moneck as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
