He… Dayton E. Mills, Jr., 55, of Uniontown died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born December 13, 1952, in South Bend, IN. a son of the late Dayton E. Mills, Sr. and Betty Cooley Mills Chapman.
Mr. Mills was an honorably discharged veteran having served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church and had formerly been employed as a heavy equipment operator by the Marsolino Construction Company.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine A. Springer Mills; two children: Tara Lynn Mills and Chad Eugene Mills and his wife, Shirley all of Uniontown; six grandchildren: Samantha, Daniel, Jennifer, Tayla, Tyler and Jessica; four siblings: Lillian Mills Vassas and her husband, Andy of Ohio, Marjorie (Janie) Mills Hare and her husband, Fred of Uniontown, Carl Mills and his wife, Delcia of Grindstone and Delphia Mills of Uniontown and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Pastor Ewing Marietta officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded graveside by Amvets General Marshall Post 103 Hopwood, Pa.
