She was born on September 2, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Emanual and Jennie (Longsdon) Hupp.
She was a member of Jacob’s Lutheran Church of Masontown and the widow of Herman Talbert.
Virginia was a beloved mother and grandmother who enjoyed planting flowers and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. She found relaxation and satisfaction in making latch-hook pictures and painting.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Jennie VanKannel and husband, James of Orlando, Fla., Shirley Lemke and husband, Rev. Roger of St. James City, Fla. and Terry Seese and husband, Delmas of Lemont Furnace; one son, Herman “Ben” Talbert of Greensburg; four grandchildren: Dr. Terri McEndree and husband, Charles of Zephyrhills, Fla., Danielle Dinkins and husband, Richard of Bushnell, Fla., Brianne Talbert of Greensburg and Daniel Talbert of Uniontown; eight great-grandchildren and a special niece, Shirley Kenny and husband, Robert of Masontown.
Besides her parents and husband, Virginia was predeceased by three sisters and six brothers. She was the last living member of her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Jacob’s Lutheran Church, Masontown on Saturday, February 23, 2008, a visitation of family and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. the hour of service with Rev. Jacqueline Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow in Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jacob’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 688, Masontown, Pa., 15461.
