ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street in Uniontown, announces Sunday’s more casual 9 a.m. service will include the Rev. Thomas E. Brown’s message “Changed Lives – the Woman at the Well’ and praise choruses led by song leader Barb Cruse and special music by pianist Sharon Brown. The more traditional 11 a.m. service will include Brown’s message and special music by the Asbury Chancel Choir and Jim Hutchinson, director of music and organist. Children’s church for grades kindergarten through fifth follows the children’s message. At both services, children’s bulletins available for ages three to seven; large-print bulletins and tele-receivers are available for the hearing impaired are available. Praise and worship begins at 6 p.m. with a light meal, followed by the message and music by the Asbury praise and worship band at 6:30 p.m. New is a Children’s Time during the service. Children will enjoy the music with their parents and then leave for a lesson/activity during the message portion.

ST. VINCENT COLLEGE IN LATROBE announces the campus ministry is planning its third annual spring break service trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil from Feb. 23 to March 2. Nearly 20 students will participate including Jessica A. Zigerelli of Scenery Hill and Jacob Bethem of Belle Vernon. The students will have an opportunity to work in schools sponsored by the Missionary Sisters of Christ, visit an AIDS clinic and rehabilitation center, visit Sao Bento, a priory of St. Vincent Archabbey and tour the favellas or slum-like communit8es. They will also celebrate Mass with a local parish where a group of Brazilian college-aged students have formed a social concern group modeled after St. Vincent students who have visited their community the past two years.
