Leona E. Azzardi, 83, of Brownfield, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.,… Leona E. Azzardi, 83, of Brownfield, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa., with her loving family at her side.

She was born on July 9, 1924 in Dearth, Pa., daughter of Carl and Mina (Bloom) Moore.

Her parents, husband, Anthony Azzardi, and granddaughter, Jodi Lyn Latin, a brother, John Moore, sisters, Lyda Moore, Emma Landman, Irva Jean Engle, Luella Watson, and Sandra Burnworth preceded her in death.

Leona attended the Uniontown Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and retired from the Uniontown Hospital Housekeeping Department.

Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She enjoyed cooking many dinners for her large family. Leona was an avid reader and loved gardening. She was especially fond of her pets, and loved all of God’s creatures. She will remain in our hearts forever.

She was the beloved mother of Darrell V. McGee and wife Leola of Fairchance, Pa., Sonja Latin and husband Joseph of Stahlstown, Pa., Mina Forsyth and husband Joseph of Hopwood, Pa., Anthony Azzardi, Jr. of Uniontown, Pa., Jerry D. Azzardi of Brownfield, Pa., Joseph M. Azzardi and wife Darlene of Uniontown, Pa., Robert F. Azzardi and wife Barbara of Cleveland, Ohio, DeChontal “Shon” Stotka and husband Ronald of Smock, Pa., Angela Galloway and husband Timothy of Morgantown, W.Va., Jeffrey Azzardi and wife Lisa of Fairchance, Pa.; cherished grandmother of twenty-two grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; dear sister of Carl “Bud” Moore of Outcrop, Pa., Annabelle VanDyne, Rita Moore, and Linda Newland, all of Uniontown and Marie Azzardi of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 9 until 11 a.m. when a service commemorating her life and faith will be given by Richard Piccolomini.

Interment will be privately held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
