Uniontown man charged with rape of 13-year-old
State police filed charges Friday against a Uniontown man alleging he raped a 13-year-old girl multiple times over the last year. Todd Alan Retcofsky, 26, of 81 Mifflin Ave. was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and indecent assault.
Police allege that Retcofsky had sex with the child on at least three occasions beginning last summer, when the girl was 12 years old.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Trooper Nathaniel S. Lieberum, police were called to a home in Georges Township at 12:20 a.m. Friday to check on the welfare of a child at the residence.
When police arrived, Lieberum said he interviewed the alleged victim, who told police that Retcofsky had sexual intercourse with her at least three times, including a sexual encounter that occurred in the child’s bedroom the previous night.
The Herald-Standard does not identify the victims of sexual assault.
Lieberum said police also interviewed the child’s mother at the scene and Retcofsky.
He allegedly admitted to police that he had sex with the girl on “several occasions,” Lieberum said.
Retcofsky was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham.
According to Fayette County Court records, the most recent alleged sexual assault occurred less than two weeks after Retcofsky posted $5,000 bond at the Fayette County Prison, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
He is scheduled to go to trial later this year for four counts of theft stemming from an incident in September, records indicate.
His criminal history dates to 2001 and includes charges ranging from reckless endangerment to weapons charges.
