Police seeking robbery suspect
State police have extracted several photographs from a gas station surveillance camera that show a suspect in a recent attempted robbery in Menallen Township. According to Trooper John F. Marshall, police were able to get several photographs of the suspect as well as photographs of the red Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving.
Marshall said the holdup occurred at 5:29 a.m. Feb. 18, when the man entered the Kwik Fill gas station on Route 40 and demanded money from the cashier. He said the man told the store clerk that he had a bomb in his car. The clerk then told the suspect to leave the store.
Marshall said the suspect then grabbed a rack of cigarettes and attempted to pull them from the wall of the store before fleeing the business in the car.
Marshall said the suspect was described as a white man who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a knit cap and yellow gloves. He said there was another man in the passenger seat of the vehicle the suspect fled in.
The vehicle also had what Marshall described as a high rear spoiler.
