CONNELLSVILLE – A Bullskin Township man charged with stealing nearly $5,000 worth of power tools from a Connellsville Township businessman will have the matter heard by a Fayette County judge. Scott A. Newcomer, 22, of 122 Quail Hill Road, is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and receiving stolen property in connection with a Dec. 16 incident at the Paul C. Sandusky Lumber Co.

Business co-owner Alan Sandusky testified Thursday that he had visited the township business on Dec. 16 and found all to be in order. However, when he returned the following day, he found that power tools stored in two trucks had been removed.

Investigating officer, Trooper Greg Yauch, told Fayette County District Attorney Mark Brooks that during a conversation with Newcomer, he was told that John Faust had broken into the garage and handed the tools over to Newcomer who then placed them into a vehicle owned by Jody Pritts.

Faust, no age given of 632 Leisenring Vanderbilt Road, Vanderbilt, is similarly charged in the incident. The Thursday preliminary hearing for Faust was continued.

Pritts, no age given, also of 122 Quail Hill Road, is charged with criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and receiving stolen property.

She waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday and will have the matter heard by a Fayette County Court judge.

Newcomer and Faust remain lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a separate $10,000 straight cash bond. Pritts was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
